After wrapping up a successful 2011 with Canadian Idol Brian Melo at his 'Toy With Me' Christmas concert & toy drive, AV continue to work closely with Brian collaborating & performing live across the city! January ended with a bang as the trio opened up for super-band 'Chicago' of 'If You Leave Me Now', 'Saturday Day in the Park' and 'You're the Inspiration' fame on January 30th at Carmen's Banquet Center. The night was a huge success for all involved, raising over $65,000 for the Good Shepard Square set to be built in downtown Hamilton, and with a special meet & greet for AV & Melo with founding band member Robert Lamm and lead singer & guitarist Jason Scheff.
The rush continues this month as Melo, AV and additional band members rehearse for their upcoming special performance of the classic Rocky theme song 'Eye of the Tiger' for the one & only Sylvester Stallone, who will be visiting Hamilton, Ontario as the Guest of Honor for a Canadian Diabetes Association charity fundraiser. The evening will feature an “Inside the Actors Studio” interview with Stallone conducted by Brian Johnson of Maclean’s Magazine, and audience members will also have the opportunity to ask the film star questions of their own. As well as Melo, guests will include CBC Dragons’ Den star Robert Herjavec, Walter Gretzy, NHL Hall-of-Famer Johnny Bower, and ET Canada’s Rick Campanelli.
The event features a five-course meal and open bar, with tickets going for $250 a piece. Special “VIP meet-and greets” are also available for $1,500 for one ticket, or $2,000 for two.
